A case has been filed against Abhijit Deepke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), and several others in Latur, Maharashtra, India, for allegedly entering a government school without permission.

They have been accused of obstructing government work and threatening teachers at Ausa Zilla Parishad Urdu School. The case was filed by a teacher at the school, identified as Syed Shamsadbano Khairatali.

Cases have been filed against Abhijit Deepke and others under Sections 132 (obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties), 329(3) (criminal trespass), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 356(2) (defamation through criminal means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to the complaint, Deepke and his associates entered the school without prior permission from the authorities. They then spoke with students and raised various questions about the school environment. The complaint alleges that they disrupted the school’s educational activities and government operations.

The complaint further states that the CJP leader recorded a video of their visit to the school and circulated it on social media.

The case complaint also alleges that Deepke attempted to defame the school and claimed that students from other schools had been brought in and kept there during their visit. He also allegedly threatened to have the school’s teachers dismissed.

On India’s Independence Day, August 15, the Cockroach Janata Party launched a campaign to visit various government schools. The campaign, aimed at demanding reforms in the education system at government schools across India, was launched from Deepke’s village of Hingoli. Since then, CJP members and activists have visited several schools across India.

CJP activists have faced resistance several times while participating in the campaign. On Friday, they reportedly faced anger from local residents while visiting a school in Rampura Kanwarpara in Jaipur.
