The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered to send Bangladesh Air Force Wing Commander Saifur Rahman in jail in connection with alleged crimes against humanity stemming from the abduction, enforced disappearance and suspected killing of BNP leader Iliyas Ali.
A three-member ICT-1 issued the order on Sunday after hearing the prosecution’s plea.
Saifur Rahman, also known as Saif, was brought before the tribunal around 9:30AM in connection with the case involving the disappearance of Iliyas Ali, a former BNP lawmaker and prominent party leader who went missing in April 2012.
The tribunal had earlier issued an arrest warrant for Saifur Rahman on August 9 following a prosecution petition seeking his arrest in the case.
