The Election Commission (EC) has given seven registered political parties, including the National Citizens Party (NCP), until September 30 to submit their annual income and expenditure reports.

The parties missed the earlier deadline and did not seek an extension. The EC has warned that legal action will follow if they fail to submit the reports.

The seven parties are NCP, Janatar Dal, Amjanatar Dal, Bangladesh Jasad, Insaniyat Biplab Bangladesh, Trinamool BNP and Bangladesh Supreme Party.

Three of them " NCP, Janatar Dal and Amjanatar Dal " were registered late last year, while the other four were registered in 2023.

The parties took part in the 13th parliamentary election held on February 12 this year. They submitted their election expenditure reports but failed to submit their annual audited financial reports for the 2025 calendar year.

The EC had asked 59 registered parties to submit their reports by July 31. As the date was a public holiday, they were given until August 2, the next working day. The Awami League, whose registration is suspended, was not included in the notice.
