Newly appointed LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan said on Sunday that the government will hold elections at all five tiers of local government on time by strictly following the constitutional process.
He said elections would be held at all five levels of local government and the government wants genuine representatives of the people to be elected.
The minister made the remarks while exchanging greetings and views with heads of different organisations and departments under the ministry, officials and journalists on his first working day at the Secretariat. State Minister Mir Shahe Alam was present.
Asked when the local government elections would begin and how long they would take to complete, Moyeen Khan said there is a constitutional process for holding the elections.
