Ctg Port to sell 442 containers of goods through e-auction

An initiative has been taken to sell goods from 442 containers eligible for auction in August through an e-auction, aimed at increasing the capacity of Chattogram Port.
Reducing the existing container congestion, and ensuring physical and financial security as well as the safety of lives and property.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) disclosed the information in a press release on Monday (August 24). It said a total of 101 lots have been included in Special E-Auction No. 10/2026, in accordance with Permanent Order No. 91/Customs/2025/123 and Special Order No. 82/2025/Customs. The lots contain 290 containers.
According to the NBR, the auction includes various types of chemicals, machinery and spare parts, plastic waste, chest freezers, pipes, different types of yarn and fabrics, solar modules, salt, paper, tiles and household goods. In addition, 86 old empty containers will also be put up for auction. No reserve price has been set for these consignments.
The NBR said the e-auction will be conducted through a fully digital process to ensure transparency and accountability in the auction activities.
To make the auction process more competitive, bidders will be allowed to physically inspect the goods under e-auction No. 09/2026 from August 30 to September 13 and those under Special e-auction No. 10/2026 from August 30 to September 15, 2026, during office hours. Bidders will then have the opportunity to submit their bids online.
Interested buyers can register from home through the Customs’ official e-auction portal (https://auction.bdcustoms.gov.bd) and submit bids online for E-Auction No. 09/2026 from August 27 until 3:00pm on September 16, and for Special E-Auction No. 10/2026 from August 27 until 3:00 PM on September 17.
The NBR said bidders will have to upload a scanned copy of a security deposit equivalent to at least 10 percent of the proposed bid value during online bidding and submit the relevant original documents within the stipulated time. The highest bidders will be required to comply with the applicable conditions of the Import Policy Order 2021-2024 to take delivery of the goods.
As part of the auction process, the tender box for E-Auction No. 09/2026 will be opened at 3:30 PM on September 16. The tender box for Special E-Auction No. 10/2026 will be opened at 11:00 AM on September 20.
The NBR has requested bidders to visit its e-auction portal for detailed information regarding the auction process.
