The two countries are working on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s proposed visit to India, date and schedule of the visit would be finalized through discussions between the two countries said Foreign Affairs State Minister Humayun Kabir.
On Monday (August 24), newly appointed State Minister Humayun Kabir took charge of his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Regarding the prime minister’s visit to India, Humayun Kabir said both countries are working on the matter. The schedule will be finalized at a mutually convenient time for Dhaka and New Delhi.
Humayun Kabir also described Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s recent remarks on Bangladesh-India bilateral relations as positive.
He further said, ''one of his key responsibilities would be to maintain a balance in foreign policy while protecting Bangladesh’s national interests. He emphasized that bilateral relations should be based on equality and fairness.
