72 sacks seized, trader fined in Jamalpur

Trader was charged with Tk 20,000 and 72 bags of fertilizer have been seized following an action in Bakshiganj upazila under Jamalpur for illegally stockpiling fertilizers and selling those at higher rates.

The action was carried out at night time (27 August) on the shop and warehouse of the trader in Okuler Mor area of Bogarchar Union. The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Asma Ul Husna and Upazila Agriculture Officer Aminul Islam.

According to officials, trader Dulal Mia has been involved in stockpiling fertilizers without any permission and selling them at higher prices for quite some times. The confiscated fertilizer includes 64 bags of DAP and eight bags of urea.
