Bapparaj joins new film ‘Gulshan-er Chameli’

Actor Bapparaj has signed a new film titled ‘Gulshan-er Chameli’ after a long break from the big screen.

Directed by M D Iqbal, the film will feature Bapparaj in an important role, producer Jahangir Sikder confirmed.

“I do not want to reveal details about the character yet. Bapparaj liked the story and the character and agreed to join the project. We are delighted to have an experienced actor like him on board,” Iqbal said.

He said the team was selecting actors who fit the story and their respective characters. Bapparaj’s character will play an important role in the film, he added.

The film is currently in pre-production, with the team discussing the cast and scouting locations. Shooting is scheduled to begin in December, if preparations proceed as planned.

The film’s mahurat was held at a hotel in Dhaka on August 2.

Tollywood actress Madhumita Sarcar will also star in the film, alongside Azmeri Haque Badhon, Omar Sani, Misha Sawdagor, Rozina and Ashish Khandker, among others.

Bapparaj has acted in numerous popular films during his long career, particularly gaining popularity with his films in the 1990s.
