Woman drug dealer arrested

A woman drug dealer was arrested with 1kg of cannabis during a raid conducted by the District Detective Branch (DB) police in Noakhali.

She was detained from her own residence in the Poura Karimpur area of Ward No. 4 of Choumuhani Municipality under Begumganj police station on Friday night.

Noakhali Superintendent of Police N M Nasiruddin said a DB team conducted the raid in the area. During the operation, police detained Sabina Begum, 30, from inside the residence of Tajul Islam and recovered 1kg of cannabis from her possession.

The arrested Sabina Begum is the wife of Tajul Islam of Poura Karimpur and the daughter of late Shah Alam.

The District Detective Branch (DB) said preparations are underway to file a case against the arrested woman under the Narcotics Control Act at Begumganj Model Police Station.
