3 more die of dengue

The fatality toll of dengue cases in the country continues to rise, with 1,097 patients hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours, the highest daily figure.  Three more patients also died during the same period.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin issued on Sunday, the dengue death toll has reached 93 so far this year.

Of these, 39 deaths have been recorded in August alone, making it the deadliest month of the year so far, with one day still remaining. Previously, July recorded 36 deaths.
