Why the book on Salman Shah was banned?

One of the favorite actors of Bangladesh, Salman Shah, still remains popular among many people almost three decades after his death in 1996. The mysterious death of the actor was deepened by the release of a book about it that caused a lot of controversy.

It was called Salman Shah, Nakshatrer Atmahotya (Salman Shah: The Suicide of a Star). This book was authored by journalist Rabi Arman and depicted the death of the actor as a suicide. That angered the mother of the deceased actor Neela Chowdhury, who saw the book as an untrue and offensive publication.

She filed a suit against the author and the publication house and the court banned the circulation of the book.

As a result, it has become a rare and controversial book.

A senior entertainment journalist stated that the use of the word "suicide" was one of the main causes of the family's dissatisfaction, since Neela Chowdhury had always believed that Salman Shah was murdered.
