CIS, DCHT provide medicines, essential supplies to flood-hit Nepal 

Community Initiative Society (CIS) and Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT) have provided essential medicines, non-food items and life-saving supplies to a field hospital serving communities affected by devastating flash floods in Nepal.

The supplies were handed over to the field hospital at No. 1 Military Training Center in Trishuli Bazaar in Nepal to support emergency healthcare and humanitarian operations in flood-affected areas.

Speaking from Nepal, CIS and DCHT executive team member Md. Golam Mostafa said children, women, elderly people and patients with chronic illnesses face heightened health risks during disasters, particularly when regular access to medicines is disrupted.

The donated medicines include treatments for diabetes, hypertension, asthma and hyperlipidemia, as well as common post-flood ailments such as coughs, colds, skin diseases and gastric problems.

To help prevent infections and protect vulnerable groups, the team also supplied sanitary napkins, face masks and antibacterial soap. Non-food items included solar lights, clothing, towels and chocolates for children.

The initiative aims to support frontline healthcare workers and strengthen emergency medical services for flood-affected communities in Nepal.
