UCB promotes Bangla QR in Jhenaidah

United Commercial Bank (UCB) organized an awareness meeting in Jhenaidah to promote Bangla QR and make digital transactions easier, safer and more accessible for everyone.

The event, titled “Awareness Meeting on the Expansion of Bangla QR,” was attended as the chief guest by Shamsul Arefeen, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Khulna. He highlighted the use and benefits of Bangla QR, as well as its potential for both customers and merchants, says a press release.

UCB Deputy Managing Director Sufia Akter, who attended the event as a special guest, said Bangla QR would enable businesses to accept payments easily, while customers could make digital transactions quickly, securely and conveniently. She also highlighted UCB’s various initiatives and support aimed at promoting digital transactions.

Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and UCB, representatives of different banks, government and private organizations, businesspeople, professionals, students and people from various walks of life attended the meeting.

The event also featured a live demonstration of Bangla QR. Guests and visitors had the opportunity to scan Bangla QR codes at merchant outlets offering various products and services and make purchases through digital payments. Bangla QR codes were also distributed among local businesses.
