A Bangladesh Bank official has been found dead at his home in Chattogram, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Police recovered the body of 55-year-old Mohammad Sayedur Rahman from his home in the Ramna Residential Area of North Agrabad on Wednesday night.
He was a joint director at the central bank.
He leaves behind three daughters " two doctors and an engineer.
Jainal Abedin Mandul, chief of Halishahar Police Station, said Sayedur had been alone at home at the time.
His wife had gone out to take their grandson to a doctor. Police said their initial assessment was that Sayedur had died by suicide, but investigators had yet to determine what may have led to his death.
“We have not been able to determine why. We are investigating,” Jainal said.
A colleague, however, said Sayedur’s death had come as a shock to those who knew him, describing him as cheerful and someone who maintained good relationships with his co-workers. " bdnews24
