Opposition deputy leader leaves circuit house over termites

Opposition deputy leader of Parliament Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher left the Circuit House of Cumilla district Friday night after discovering termites in his room.

Taher, who is an MP of Cumilla-11 constituency, visited Cumilla for the 11 party alliance’s march from Dhaka. Taher discovered termites on his furniture, bed covers, etc. around 10 PM. As staff members did not manage to get him another room quickly, he left the circuit house and took rest somewhere else.

Pictures of the alleged termites that he had captured became viral on social media platforms.

An official from the district administration claimed that other rooms were vacant, but Taher left the place due to delay in getting another key.
