An unidentified man was killed after being hit by a train at Karwan Bazar in the capital’s Tejgaon area on Thursday night.

A vegetable trader, Kader, rescued the critically injured man, aged about 55, with the help of another passerby and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 11:30 pm where doctors declared him dead after examination.

Kader said the man was crossing the railway tracks when he was hit by a moving train.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

The concerned police station has been informed, he said, adding that efforts are underway to identify the deceased and complete the legal procedures."UNB
