517 arrested in 24hrs

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 517 people in separate drives across the capital over the past 24 hours and filed 37 cases during the same period.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Akter Hossain disclosed the information on Sunday morning.

According to the DMP, 33 people were arrested by the Ramna division, 38 by Lalbagh, 40 by Wari, 45 by Motijheel, 83 by Tejgaon, 160 by Mirpur, 48 by Gulshan, 66 by Uttara and four by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operations, police also seized 12,228 Yaba tablets, 610 grams of cannabis, rescued six victims, and recovered 10 mobile phones, 70 litres of diesel, seven oil drums and a pair of City Gold earrings.
