Rita for renovation of rusty food warehouses

Food Minister Afroza Khanam Rita has directed authorities to renovate, improve and upgrade the food warehouses and related facilities across the country, prioritising them according to need.

The minister issued the directive with particular reference to the dilapidated food warehouse in Saturia of Manikganj, stressing the need to improve the condition of food storage facilities to ensure safe and adequate food stocks.

She made the directives at a view exchange meeting with officials of the Directorate General of Food (DG Food) in its conference room on Sunday. Director General of the DG of Food Md Jasim Uddin Khan chaired the meeting while Food Secretary Abu Taher Md Masud Rana and officials from different levels of the directorate attended.
