Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel and local villagers successfully thwarted an attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push 25 to 30 people into Bangladesh through the Birampur border in Dinajpur.
According to local sources, BSF personnel gathered a group of 25 to 30 men and women on the Indian side near main pillar 289/46 S of the Gobindapur border under Daudpur BGB BOP around 10:30 PM on Sunday (September 6).
Upon receiving the news, members of the Daudpur BGB camp joined forces with local residents to build a strong resistance. Facing opposition from the troops and locals, the BSF retreated with the gathered individuals after nearly two hours.
BGB has since intensified patrols in the area, while local residents remain on high alert.
Daudpur BGB Camp Commander Naib Subedar Mahabubur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating that patrols have been bolstered to prevent any further infiltration attempts.
