Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney is back in the spotlight, this time not for a film or TV series but for a provocative new advertisement.
The Euphoria star appears nearly nude in a campaign for Novig, a new sports trading and prediction app, using various sports equipment to cover herself.
Throughout the ad, Sweeney is seen posing with basketballs and footballs, while other scenes feature a hockey goalpost, football pads, a baseball catcher’s helmet and a hockey goalie mask. She is not merely the face of the campaign .she has also joined Novig as a strategic partner and shareholder.
Explaining the idea behind the campaign, Sweeney said the aim was to present a fun and simple concept: stripping away distractions and putting the focus entirely on sports.
The advertisement opens with Sweeney asking, “Think you know everything about sports? Prove it.” She then appears sitting on top of a basketball hoop, with basketballs and footballs strategically covering her body.
The ad becomes increasingly eye-catching as she appears in different sports gear, including parts of a hockey goalie outfit, football pads and a baseball catcher’s helmet. At one point, she also wears a Novig jersey.
Novig launched its operations across the United States last month. The platform operates under a federally regulated framework and is available only to users aged 21 or above. The company combines sports-focused prediction markets with concepts borrowed from modern financial trading.
This is not Sweeney’s first time appearing in a revealing advertising campaign. Earlier this year, she launched her own underwear brand, SIRNE, and appeared in several promotional videos for the label.
She also starred in an American Eagle jeans campaign last year that generated widespread online debate over its “good jeans” wordplay.
Sweeney is also enjoying a busy period professionally. Following the success of The Housemaid, she is set to return in its sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret. She previously starred in the romantic comedy Anyone But You, which was made on a relatively modest budget but went on to gross nearly $400 million worldwide, becoming a major box-office success.
Her upcoming projects also include Netflix’s Gundam and StudioCanal’s The Custom of the Country.
