The US unit of Jubo Dal volunteer wing held a preparatory meeting in New York on Friday (September 11) to coordinate efforts to ensure the success of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s upcoming visit to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting was held in Jackson Heights, with BNP Central International Affairs Secretary Anwar Hossain Khokon attending as the chief guest. The meeting was chaired by Maksudul Haque Chowdhury, international affairs secretary of the central volunteer wing.
Former US president of the volunteer wing and BNP Central Executive Committee member Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan Milton, BNP Central Executive Committee members Abdul Latif Samrat and Zillur Rahman Zillu, central volunteer wing’s joint international affairs secretary Saifur Khan Harun, and former acting president of the US volunteer wing Tarikul Islam Dipu attended as special guests.
US volunteer wing leaders Rashed Rahman, Harun Mia, Badal Mirza, Milon and Tipu, among others, were also present.
Addressing the meeting, speakers said Tarique Rahman is set to visit the United States after a gap of 20 years and called on BNP leaders and activists in the US, along with leaders of its affiliated and associate organisations, to work in a coordinated and united manner to ensure a safe and successful visit.
They stressed the need for comprehensive preparations to make the visit successful and productive and urged party leaders and activists to take necessary steps to ensure the success of various programmes planned during his stay in the United States.
