A sudden early-morning downpour swept across Dhaka on Sunday (September 13), bringing much-needed relief from days of sweltering heat while causing significant disruptions for morning commuters and office-goers.

The rain began around 7:30 AM on the 29th day of the Bengali month of Bhadra, taking city residents by surprise as dark clouds covered the capital's skyline. The continuous downpour lasted for about an hour and a half during peak morning travel hours.

Many office-bound individuals and pedestrians were caught off guard without umbrellas, forcing many to wade through the rain to reach their destinations.

While the sudden showers lowered temperatures and provided respite from the persistent oppressive humidity, the rain led to a acute shortage of public transportation across major routes, leaving numerous commuters stranded along city roads.
