Citizens Bank launches Islamic banking operations ‘Citizens Islamic’

Embracing the slogan “Pure Banking, Prosperous Tomorrow” and reaffirming its commitment to be a trusted partner in Shariah-based banking, Citizens Bank PLC has formally launched its Islamic Banking operations under the brand name “Citizens Islamic.” 

Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb, Chairman of Citizens Bank PLC formally inaugurated the Bank’s Islamic Banking operations on September 14, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the Bank’s journey to provide Shariah-compliant, ethicaland customer-centric banking solutions.

Among others, the event was attended by Masuduzzaman, Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee; Directors Mokhlesur Rahman, S M ShofiqulHoq and Md Rafiqul Alam; Independent Director and Chairman of Audit Committee AKM Shahidul Haque; Alamgir Hossain, Managing Director of Citizens Bank PLC; Professor Dr Mohammad Abdus Samad, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee; Members of the Shariah Supervisory Committee Dr Mufti Muhammad Abu Yusuf Khan and Mufti Muinul Islam; and Deputy Managing Directors Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Abdul Latif.
