Load-Shedding Takes a Toll on Students

Letter To the Editor
Dear Sir,
Due to the ongoing fuel crisis, the frequency of load-shedding is increasing day by day. Power outages are now affecting areas ranging from villages to cities, including the residential halls of various educational institutions. Students and the general public alike are facing great hardship due to the combination of intensifying heat and frequent night-time power cuts.

Often, unpredictable load-shedding prevents students from continuing their studies or stops examinees from completing their syllabi. Consequently, they suffer from mental stress and struggle to perform well in examinations. Furthermore, power outages occur even during classes amid the scorching heat, causing both teachers and students to lose focus and disrupting the learning process. In some instances, students faint due to the unbearable heat, putting their physical well-being at risk.

Therefore, the administration must take appropriate measures to ensure adequate electricity supply to educational institutions and find a swift solution to the fuel crisis.
