Former Sirajganj SP Arifur Rahman dismissed

The government has dismissed former Sirajganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Arifur Rahman Mondal from service after charges of absence without permission and abandoning his post were proven in departmental cases.

The Home Ministry issued a gazette notification on Monday, September 21, on the president’s order.

According to the notification, Arifur had been absent from duty without permission since February 19, 2025. A departmental case was filed against him and a show-cause notice was issued, but he did not respond.

He was earlier suspended on July 2, 2025, for remaining absent without permission. The government said his actions amounted to negligence of duty, disobedience of official orders and violation of service discipline.
