Aditya Dhar hopes to return with Dhurandhar next year

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar has hinted that he hopes to return to the National Film Awards next year with his upcoming film Dhurandhar, while saying that the current ceremony was about Article 370.
Dhar attended the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on Tuesday with his wife and actor Yami Gautam Dhar. Article 370 won Best Feature Film, while Yami received the Best Actress award and Shashwat Sachdev won Best Music Direction for the film.
Asked about Dhurandhar during a red-carpet interaction, Dhar said, “We are here for Article 370, we will discuss Dhurandhar hopefully if we come next year also. But, today, it is all about Article 370.”
The 72nd National Film Awards recognised achievements in Indian cinema for 2024, meaning Dhurandhar was not part of this year’s awards.
For Yami, the ceremony marked her first National Film Award. She described the honour as the biggest validation for an artist and said she was feeling like a newcomer experiencing something “big, new and special”.
Article 370, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, was among the major winners at the ceremony. The film received the Best Feature Film award, while Yami Gautam Dhar was named Best Actress and Shashwat Sachdev won Best Music Direction.
The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on September 22. It was the first time the National Film Awards ceremony was held outside Delhi.
