Iran offers US new roadmap to end war

Iran has proposed a new roadmap to the United States to end the ongoing war, including a 60-day ceasefire and lifting blockades on the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian ports.

Iranian and US representatives held talks in New York on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, with Qatar, Pakistan and Egypt acting as mediators.

Under the proposal, both sides would stop attacks during the 60-day ceasefire. It also calls for an end to attacks across the region.

It remains unclear whether Washington has accepted the proposal. US President Donald Trump has said the blockade on Iranian ports will remain until Tehran shows sufficient willingness to end the war.
