President releases 400 kg fish fry in Bangabhaban pond

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir released fish fry in the ‘Singho Pukur’ (Lion Pond) of Bangabhaban on Thursday (September 24) morning.

The press wing of the President confirmed the information following the event.

Organised by the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, the initiative carried the slogan "Self-reliant country in silver fish, Bangladesh first of all." A total of 400 kg of fish fry—comprising 160 kg of Rui, 120 kg of Katla, 80 kg of Mrigal, and 40 kg of Kalibaus—was released into the pond.

The Military Secretary to the President, Public Division Secretary, Press Secretary, Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Director General of the Department of Fisheries, along with senior officials from Bangabhaban and the ministry, attended the programme.

Following the release of the fish fry, the Pesh Imam of the Bangabhaban Jamme Mosque led a special supplication (Munajat) seeking the development, prosperity, and welfare of the nation.
