Klopp set for Germany debut against Netherlands

Jürgen Klopp is set to begin his tenure as Germany head coach when his side face the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League in Amsterdam on Thursday (September 24).

The match at the Johan Cruijff Arena will mark Klopp’s first competitive game in charge of the German national team after he succeeded Julian Nagelsmann following Germany’s early exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Klopp has selected 44 players across two squads for Germany’s four upcoming Nations League fixtures. The first 24-man squad will face the Netherlands on September 24 and Greece on September 27, while another group will be used for matches against Serbia and Greece in October.

The German coach said he is looking forward to his debut and is satisfied with the team’s preparations during his first days in charge.
