Two found dead in two districts

Two persons were found dead in separate incidents in Dinajpur and Khulna districts on Wednesday.
DINAJPUR: Police recovered the hanging body of a university student from a mess near Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) on Wednesday evening.

The deceased, Cynthia, was a 21st-batch Development Studies student of HSTU and a native of Gazipur District.
Officers from Kotwali Police Station (PS) rushed to the “Fazila Mess” near the BCS alley following a tip-off and retrieved the body. Investigators suspect it is a case of suicide, though the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md Abdul Halim stated that the body has been sent to Dinajpur Medical College morgue for an autopsy. The body will be handed over to relatives following the autopsy and completion of formal procedures. An investigation is underway.

KHULNA: Police recovered the hanging body of a beautician named Moni Khan from a house in Karimnagar Mosque Lane in the city on Wednesday afternoon.

Moni was the wife of Hossain Rashid Khan and worked as a beautician.

According to police and local residents, Moni had kept the door of her room locked since Tuesday. Family members contacted the National Emergency Service 999. Police later broke open the door around noon and found Moni hanging inside the room. She was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonadanga PS Md Rafiqul Islam said Moni was a tenant of Azadul Haque in Karimnagar Mosque Lane.

He said police initially suspected that she might have taken her own life following a family dispute.
