Bangladesh seeks Gamini’s advice for Asian Games success

Bangladesh’s cricket team left the country on Thursday to compete in the Asian Games, with captain Litton Das expressing hopes of winning gold.

Fast-bowling coach Talha Jubair also believes Bangladesh can challenge for the top prize. The wickets in Japan have been prepared by former Bangladesh pitch curator Gamini de Silva, and the team plans to seek his advice.

“The wickets are unfamiliar, but we have some ideas. We will speak with Gamini again and hope to do well as a team,” Talha said.

He expects the slow wickets to favour Bangladesh, adding that the batters and spinners will have important roles to play.

Talha also confirmed that Najmul Hossain Shanto, who missed the preparation matches with a toe injury, is now fully fit.
