EC resumes voter transfer process

Election Commission (EC) has resumed the voter transfer process after postponing its plan to hold local government elections in November. Voters who have moved to a new residence can now apply to transfer their voter area.

The EC had stopped the process on September 10 as it planned to hold the local government elections in November. It decided to resume the process following the postponement of the elections.

The information was revealed in a letter signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary Nasir Uddin Chowdhury on Wednesday.

Earlier, the EC had instructed its field offices, through a letter issued on September 2, to complete applications for voter transfers following a change of residence by September 10.
