Salah leaves Egypt camp amid reported dispute with coach

Tension has reportedly emerged within the Egypt camp after their goalless draw with Angola in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Coach Hossam Hassan substituted Mohamed Salah in the 60th minute, insisting the decision was tactical. Salah, who had no injury, was reportedly unhappy with being taken off.

Egyptian journalist Ahmed Abdel Baset reported that Salah has already left the camp without informing anyone, reportedly to avoid further controversy.

However, the Egyptian Football Association said Salah was rested for the upcoming South Sudan match, which will be played on artificial turf. The association said Salah and the technical staff had agreed before the Angola game that he would be rested for player safety.
