Man City found guilty of 114 of 115 Premier League charges

Manchester City have been found guilty of all but one of the 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations, according to British media reports.

The verdict came more than three years after the Premier League brought the charges against the Manchester club. The Athletic reported that sanctions have not yet been decided and that Manchester City are expected to appeal the decision.

The charges cover alleged breaches relating to the club’s financial information between 2009 and 2018, failure to cooperate with Premier League investigations, player and manager contracts and payments, and breaches of the league’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules. The case also included allegations concerning UEFA financial regulations.

The possible sanctions have not yet been determined. They could include a fine, points deduction or other disciplinary measures, depending on the outcome of the Premier League’s process.

Manchester City were initially charged in February 2023 and have denied the allegations. The case was heard by an independent commission, with the hearing concluding in December 2024.

The club are expected to appeal the verdict, meaning the case is likely to continue through the appeals process.
