‘Even my brother won’t be spared for wrongdoing’: Hasnat Abdullah

National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organiser and Cumilla-4 MP Hasnat Abdullah has said no one will be spared for committing crimes, even if the offender is his brother or a student of his former school.

“You will always find me beside you for good work. But if you commit a crime, you will not be spared. Rather, youths from my constituency will face four to five times harsher punishment than those from other upazilas,” he said.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a reception for GPA-5 and scholarship-winning students at Debidwar Government Reaz Uddin Pilot Model High School in Cumilla on Saturday (September 26).

Hasnat urged students to focus on their studies and said good academic results could open the way to higher education and future careers.

He also expressed concern over students’ involvement in gang culture and other crimes, saying he feels ashamed when he hears of arrests of youths from Debidwar but takes pride in hearing about their achievements.
