Security to be tightened at all power plants nationwide

The authorities have ordered necessary measures to strengthen overall security at all power plants across the country, according to the record of discussions of a ‘Core Committee’ meeting of the Home Ministry.

The ministry’s Public Security Division sent a letter to the concerned authorities on September 17 regarding the matter. Subsequently, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters issued a letter to relevant officials on September 23 to implement the directive.

According to the Home Ministry’s letter, necessary steps must be taken to strengthen security at all power plants nationwide, in line with the decisions recorded at the Core Committee meeting held on August 26.

Following the directive, the DMP headquarters requested the concerned officials to take necessary measures accordingly.

Copies of the Home Ministry’s letter were also sent to the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, the secretary of the Public Security Division, relevant ministry officials and concerned police officers.
