Chemical factory catches fire in Mirsarai

A chemical factory in Mirsarai, Chattogram, caught fire after a loud explosion on Saturday (September 26) evening, with no casualties reported.

The fire broke out at Nasir Factory in the Wireless area of Mirsarai Sadar Union under the Mirsarai BSCIC Industrial Estate at around 5:30 PM.

Several units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the scene and worked to contain the blaze, which spread rapidly across the factory. Firefighters faced difficulties as chemicals were stored inside the facility.

The fire was brought under control at around 7:00 PM after nearly two hours of efforts, said Hla Marma, an official of the Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence Station.

He said no deaths or injuries had been reported. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage will be known after an investigation.
