Lakshmipur PDB engineer's bribery video goes viral

A video showing Lakshmipur Power Development Board (PDB) Executive Engineer Nurul Amin negotiating a massive bribe has gone viral on Facebook, sparking widespread outrage.

The nearly nine-minute video clip surfaced on social media on Sunday (September 27) night.

In the recording, Engineer Nurul Amin is heard demanding Tk 2 crore from unknown individuals to sign off on official documents and bills.

"Give me Tk 2 crore out of Tk 5 crore, and I will sign everything," the executive engineer says in the video, claiming that a contractor embezzled huge amounts of equipment.

The video also shows him accepting bundles of cash from several unidentified individuals, counting Tk 1.35 lakh during the exchange.

While the exact date of the recorded incident remains unconfirmed, repeated attempts to contact Executive Engineer Nurul Amin via his official telephone for comments went unanswered.
