MCCI, Pakistan HC discuss boosting bilateral trade

MCCI President Kamran T Rahman and Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider have discussed strengthening institutional linkages between the MCCI and regional chambers of commerce and industry in Pakistan for mutual benefits. 

They also discussed organising business-to-business (B2B) meetings and reciprocal participation in trade exhibitions for boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.

The issues came up for discussion when Pakistan High Commissioner came to the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Head Office on Monday. MCCI president Kamran T. Rahman received the Pakistani High Commissioner, said a press release. 

They also explored avenues to enhance bilateral trade in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, fresh fruits and vegetables, jute, surgical goods and ceramics.

The MCCI leadership appreciated Pakistan’s significant growth in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector and discussed possible avenues for collaboration in this field.

The High Commissioner invited the MCCI president and its members to attend Pakistan’s premier food and agricultural exhibition, FoodAg 2026, scheduled to be held in Karachi from November 23 to 26.

The meeting was aimed at exploring greater business engagement and expanding trade and investment opportunities between Bangladesh and Pakistan.�"BSS
