Bus services resume on all Naogaon routes after 79 hours

Bus services on all internal routes in Naogaon resumed on Wednesday afternoon after remaining suspended for 79 hours following a dispute between bus and CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers.

The suspension caused severe hardship for passengers, many of whom had to use alternative transport at higher fares.

The dispute began after a clash between bus and CNG auto-rickshaw drivers several days ago. Tensions later led to the suspension of bus services on several internal routes, disrupting communication between Naogaon and different upazilas.

Transport leaders and the administration held discussions with both sides and reached an agreement, leading to the resumption of services on Wednesday.

Naogaon District Motor Workers' Union President Md Abu Bakar Siddiq Nannu said the situation was resolved through joint efforts by police and other stakeholders.

Naogaon Superintendent of Police Md Tarikul Islam said bus and CNG auto-rickshaw services had returned to normal following administrative efforts. He urged both sides to maintain restraint and operate their services peacefully.
