A 58-year-old man was killed in Bihar’s flood-hit Saran district after a relief packet dropped from a helicopter allegedly struck him on the head, officials said.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon near a relief camp in Parshurampur village, where the Indian Air Force was air-dropping relief supplies to flood victims. The victim was identified as Anil Kumar Singh.
Police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after a post-mortem, as no visible injury marks were found on his body.
A woman was also injured after the helicopter’s downdraft reportedly blew a tin structure into her leg. Local residents later protested, demanding an investigation into the incident.
