Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan Mukta, former Member of Parliament for the Panchagarh-1 constituency representing the now-banned Awami League, has been arrested by police.

Naimuzzaman, who served as the Vice President of the Panchagarh district Awami League unit, was elected to Parliament for his first term from the Panchagarh-1 seat (comprising Sadar, Tetulia, and Atwari upazilas) in the 12th National Parliamentary Election.
