Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will meet the family members of BUET student Abrar Fahad, who was killed in a beating by leaders and activists of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League.
The meeting will take place at 5 PM on Thursday (October 8) at the Cabinet Division of Bangladesh Secretariat, according to the prime minister’s Press Wing.
Abrar was a second-year student of electrical engineering and a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall at BUET.
On October 6, 2019, Chhatra League members took him to a room at the hall over a Facebook post in which he criticised an alleged unequal India-Bangladesh deal and water-sharing arrangements. He was beaten throughout the night and died there.
