The hearing on framing charges against ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others in the Mohammadpur truck driver Hossain murder case has been deferred to October 26.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 Judge Robiul Alam passed the order on Thursday (October 8).
State counsel M Anisur Rahman confirmed the development, saying two jailed accused, Sazzad Hossain and Naimul Hasan Russell, could not be produced before the court as they had hearings before the International Crimes Tribunal.
According to the case documents, truck driver Md Hossain was shot dead in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur on July 19, 2024, during the anti-discrimination student movement. His mother, Rina Begum, filed the murder case with Mohammadpur Police Station on August 31 that year.
Investigation officer SI Akramuzzaman submitted a charge sheet against Hasina and 33 others on November 23, 2025.
Of the 34 accused, 20, including Hasina, are absconding, four are in jail and 10 are out on bail, according to the case details. A court issued arrest warrants against the absconding accused on January 26.
