
JALDHAKA, NILPHAMARI, Oct 8: Jaldhaka MP Maulana Obaidullah Salafi made a surprise visit to Jaldhaka Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday morning and assured patients and hospital officials of taking steps to address shortages of medicines, manpower and functioning diagnostic equipment.
During the visit, the MP inspected healthcare services and spoke to doctors, patients and their attendants about the overall situation at the facility.
Patients and their attendants told him about shortages of medicines, a non-functional X-ray machine and inadequate manpower, including staff needed for cleaning and maintaining the hospital.
Salafi assured them that he would take necessary steps to resolve the problems as soon as possible. He also said he would provide support through his own manpower for cleaning activities at the hospital.
He asked the hospital authorities to ensure that patients do not face unnecessary suffering and urged them to inform him immediately if any problem arises at the facility.
Health Complex Chief Dr Nanda Sen Gupta, Dr Mahadi Hasan, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Mokhlesur Rahman Master, Press Club President Alhaj Kamruzzaman, doctors, officials and nurses were present during the visit.
Later, the MP visited the Jaldhaka Upazila Agriculture Office and discussed ongoing activities of the agriculture department and various problems faced by farmers.
He also enquired whether farmers were receiving government services and support properly.
Agriculture Officer Mizanur Rahman and other officials were present.
Salafi instructed officials to ensure that no farmer is deprived of government incentives and other benefits.
