The Traffic Division of the Chattogram District Police has undertaken a unique initiative to ensure children’s safety on the roads and raise awareness about traffic laws by conducting an awareness programme involving students.
Under the direction of District Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Masud Alam, this awareness programme was carried out with students from Hathazari Government Primary School and Dhurang Khulshi Lions High School on Thursday.
During the event, the students were provided with guidance on proper road-crossing rules, the use of footpaths, adherence to traffic signals, crossing via zebra crossings, and maintaining caution while moving on the roads.
Besides, leaflets containing various rules for safe road usage were distributed among the students. They were encouraged not only to follow these rules themselves but also to raise awareness among their families and people in their communities.
Alongside road safety, students were advised to focus on their regular studies, pay attention in class, and remain respectful toward their teachers and guardians. They were encouraged to cultivate honesty, discipline, and human values, while also being urged to avoid unnecessary mobile phone usage.
District Police said that such public welfare activities aimed at building a safe, disciplined, and humane society by sowing the seeds of awareness among children will continue in the future.
Among others, Additional SP (Traffic) of Chattogram District, TI (Administration), traffic police personnel serving in the Hathazari and Fatikchhari zones, as well as school teachers, students, and guardians were present on the occasion.
