Bayern concede fastest goal in Bundesliga history

Bayern Munich conceded the fastest goal in Bundesliga history when Augsburg’s Robin Fellhauer scored after just 8.4 seconds in their 2-2 draw on Saturday (October 10), capitalising on a costly mistake by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Bayern kicked off the match but quickly passed the ball back to Neuer. The goalkeeper attempted to chip the ball over the onrushing Fellhauer, but the Augsburg player intercepted it and ran towards the unguarded goal to score.

The goal broke the previous Bundesliga record of nine seconds, jointly held by Kevin Volland, who scored for Hoffenheim against Bayern in 2015, and Karim Bellarabi, who netted for Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund in 2014.

Despite the early setback, Bayern fought back after the break. Ismael Saibari equalised in the 55th minute, with Harry Kane providing the assist.

Augsburg regained the lead in the 64th minute when Rodrigo Ribeiro scored after another Neuer error. The Bayern goalkeeper punched Calvin Brackelmann’s shot into Ribeiro’s path, allowing the forward to score.

Bayern rescued a point in the 80th minute when Nathaniel Brown converted Kane’s cutback. Serge Gnabry later hit the post as Bayern pressed for a winner.
