Bangladesh will look to finish their tour of Australia on a more competitive note when they face the hosts in the third and final women's ODI at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Australia have already secured the three-match series with victories in the opening two games, leaving Bangladesh with the challenge of avoiding a clean sweep against one of the strongest sides in women's cricket.

The visitors have shown glimpses of their batting potential, particularly in the second ODI, when Sobhana Mostary struck a historic 118 off 134 balls. Her century, the first by a Bangladesh woman against Australia in international cricket, helped Bangladesh post 220 for six after a difficult start.

Captain Nigar Sultana Joty provided valuable support with an unbeaten 74, and their 195-run partnership gave Bangladesh a platform to challenge the home side. However, Australia chased down the target with nine wickets in hand, exposing the gap Bangladesh still need to bridge in bowling and overall execution.

Georgia Voll was the chief destroyer in that chase, scoring an unbeaten 131, while Phoebe Litchfield contributed 70. Australia had also won the first ODI by seven wickets after dismissing Bangladesh for 166.

For Bangladesh, the final match offers an opportunity to build on the batting progress made in the second game and produce a more disciplined performance across all departments. Their bowlers will need to find ways to contain Australia's aggressive top order, while the batters must aim for another substantial total without relying on one partnership alone.

A victory would not change the series outcome, but it would provide Bangladesh with a valuable boost and a stronger finish to a challenging tour.
The match is scheduled to begin at 9:50am Bangladesh time on Wednesday.
