Dear Sir,
In this digital age, even prudent adults struggle to overcome social media addiction. It is therefore hardly surprising that children and teenagers are also losing valuable years to excessive screen time. Instead of nurturing curiosity and a desire to learn, many are wasting their formative years on social media, putting their intellectual and moral development at risk.
Reading good literature, pursuing self-improvement, studying religious texts and learning creative skills could help them become more thoughtful and responsible individuals. Families can also encourage children to participate in household chores and spend quality time with their loved ones rather than remaining glued to phones, laptops and televisions.
Parents must lead by example by limiting their own screen time and engaging in constructive activities with their children. Such efforts can broaden young minds and encourage healthier habits. Society, families and the administration must work together to curb digital addiction and protect the future generation.
