The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has refuted viral social media claims alleging that it approved a cancer treatment developed from components derived from camel urine, clarifying that the product in question is merely registered as a dietary supplement.
In a statement released on its official X account, the SFDA confirmed that the product highlighted in online discussions holds no approval as a medicinal treatment for cancer or any other disease.
According to the regulatory body, the product derived from camel urine components is registered strictly as a dietary supplement containing a blend of vitamins and minerals designed to meet daily nutritional requirements.
The SFDA emphasized that the approved scope of use for the product remains strictly limited to addressing nutritional deficits as a dietary supplement, carrying no recognized therapeutic claims or authorization for cancer treatment.
The authority urged the public to disregard false claims suggesting the item had been approved for medical oncology treatments.
